
NACCU
continues to evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of the
Conference.
In
past conferences, attendees received a CD with the session
Power-Point files on it. Starting in 2008, the files were posted on
the NACCU Web site. This allowed attendees to print out handouts for
the sessions if they wanted, but handouts were not printed in
advance for every session. This alone saved thousands of sheets of
paper.
The
photo directory has also been discontinued. The Conference attendee
roster was improved to include lists by institution and
state/country to make it more useful in replacing the photo
directory.
The
Conference program was downsized to just 60 two-sided pages, rather
than the large planner style program handed out in the past.
Thanks to the suggestions received in evaluation comments, this year
we are discontinuing pre-packaged bottled water, and instead will
hand out sport bottles to all attendees and have water stations
available around the Conference.
We
are also reducing the size of the session evaluation forms, a small
change which will save over 2000 sheets of paper.
We
