InstaPayment, Inc. provides integrated web-based payment solutions and financial services using advanced smart card technologies.

CampusCards.com provides K-12 and IHL education markets with fully integrated web-based solutions that include student ID smart cards, Point-of-Sale terminals and our website to enable on-campus and soon off-campus purchases.  Students may use their ID smart card to purchase meals, student store supplies, and more. From our website, funds can get transferred and applied to the card. Card purchase activity can be viewed securely from the website, information such as student medical needs, allergies and much more can be securely stored within the highly encrypted smart card chip.

With our CampusCards program, schools receive a mass broadcast Emergency Alert System at no cost. When registering, parents, students and faculty can opt-in by including their Email and phone numbers within our CampusCards website. In the event of any school emergency or broadcast, school officials simply record their message for rapid distribution to all members. Email and text message alerts are also provided.

Why our CampusCards program is so valuable to schools:

  • Absolutely no cost to most schools! We provide all ID smart cards, card readers, POS terminals and Emergency Alert Service at no cost. Our revenue is generated by a nominal card ‘reload/convenience’ fee that is applied only when funds get transferred to the card, similar to an ATM.
  • Highly encrypted and secure ID smart card for information and emergency contact data storage.
  • Emergency Alert System included at no cost. Simple, secure and highly desired by students and parents.
  • Secure online payment processing and school invoice presentation and payment solution.
  • Improve school cafeteria payment process time, reduce meal lines, improve data reporting and administration, and improve security, efficiency and convenience.
  • A web-based service. Very minimal school IT effort is required. There are no system administration, system integration, server or database management requirements. We handle all of the heavy lifting. There is no hardware or software required, nor hardware or software costs. System installation requires just power and an internet connection.
  • Schools can use any portion of our services, such as electronic payment processing only, or our entire CampusCards program.

Our student ID smart card chip operating system is designed around universal smart card standards, enabling our smart cards to operate with security access readers, security control doors and gates, smart card enabled vending machines, smart card enabled mass transit, and more.  One card is all that is needed from CampusCards.com.

Company History
HID Corporation was formed in 1991 when Hughes Aircraft Company acquired the rights to RFID Technology from Destron. HID was incorporated as Hughes Identification Devices, a subsidiary of General Motors Hughes Electronics (GMHE), with Proximity Access Control readers and cards as the initial product offering.

ASSA ABLOY AB, the world’s leading manufacturer of locks, acquired HID in January, 2001. While the acquisition has not altered HID’s mission or management, integration into ASSA ABLOY’s US$2 billion global operation provides substantial benefits for customers worldwide. ASSA ABLOY gains the addition of HID’s leading RFID technology to its advanced technology lock products, while HID benefits from ASSA ABLOY’s substantial capital resources and extensive global presence.

Products/Services:
As the largest manufacturer of contactless access control readers and cards for the security industry, HID has shipped over 150 million credentials to customers worldwide. HID pioneered the development of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for physical access control.  Proximity and iCLASS technologies can be housed on the same credential and combined with other technologies such as magnetic stripe, barcode, or contact smart chip modules.  This provides users the ability to leverage their investment in existing systems while seamlessly upgrading to new technologies and adding new applications.  For increased security, users can add a photo ID or anti-counterfeiting element such as a hologram or ultraviolet ink. HID’s experience in developing card technologies enables them to play a critical role in the evolution and adoption of contactless smart card technology used for applications such as access control, IT secure authentication, digital cash, the storage of biometric templates, and the storage and retrieval of critical information.

HID’s iCLASS is a new 13.56 MHz contactless read/write smart card technology optimized for physical access control, IT secure authentication and other applications. iCLASS smart cards and readers make access control more powerful, more versatile, and most importantly, offer enhanced security through encryption and mutual authentication.

PERSONA™ is an off-line electronic access control system designed to meet the unique security needs of educational facilities. The PERSONA system utilizes both magnetic stripe and PIN code technologies for maximum protection. These unique dual system locks were designed by VingCard to solve a problem inherent with typical keycard systems. Although magstripe technology allows student/faculty ID cards to double as keycards for the locks, these cards usually include a name and/or photo, so the card can easily be associated with a housing facility, classroom or office. This creates a security concern whenever cards are lost or stolen. With VingCard PERSONA, the card is rendered useless without the corresponding PIN code needed to complete the unlocking process. Replacement cards can be issued quickly and inexpensively, eliminating the cost of changing locks or cylinders.

PERSONA's user-friendly Campus 1000™ software is Windows 95™-based and can be easily integrated with most student/faculty databases. It can be customized for each individual school and is flexible and expandable. The software can be used at one workstation or networked to several, allowing keycards to be encoded at multiple locations.

One of the most important features of the system is the ability to issue limited access keycards, specifying exact locations, days or times of access to a particular lock by one individual or group. For example, a member of the school's maintenance staff may be issued a temporary key with a 30-minute time window for access into an area, allowing just enough time to complete the work needed. After its expiration time, the card is no longer valid. There is also a timetable built into the lock itself. For example, the front door to an administrative area may be programmed to remain in passage mode from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., the lock will automatically lock and remain locked until the following day. At that point, only individuals with keycards that are encoded to allow access after 5:00 would be granted access.

PERSONA's advanced audit trail capability allows administrators to determine when, where and by whom access was requested, and whether or not it was granted. It also details lock events, such as door position, deadbolt use and use of the mechanical override, providing a clear picture of the events at the door at any given time.

Remote readers are also available from VingCard PERSONA for exterior doors or parking gates. For additional security, the power supply, control module and card reader are mounted on the inside of the door.

A division of VingCard a.s., the international leader in hospitality access control, PERSONA™ is also part of ASSA-ABLOY, the world's largest lock company consortium. Since inventing the recodable mechanical lock in 1979, VingCard has continued to innovate locking technology solutions in multiple industries.
