Provide an Integrated Food Management and

Commerce Solution

Leading Foodservice Management Company and Blackboard to Bring a Combined Offering to Higher Education Institutions

Washington, DC, – February 28, 2007 – Blackboard Inc. (Nasdaq: BBBB) announced today a new partnership with Computrition, Inc., a leading developer of hospitality, food management, and patient care automation, that integrates the Blackboard Commerce Suite™ with Computrition’s Foodservice Operations Management suite. Through this partnership, food service operators to higher education institutions will be offered a seamlessly integrated and comprehensive solution for both their front- and back-of-house operations.  The companies’ products will integrate via Computrition’s POS XChange Gateway and the Blackboard Building BlocksTM technologies.

“The integration of the Blackboard and Computrition product suites offers institutions unparalleled ability to improve the student experience with better customer service, including personalized menu options,” said Russ Carlson, President of the Blackboard Commerce Group.  “Chairman and CEO and company founder Ellyn Luros-Elson has built the most respected name in food service management today.  We are thrilled to be working with her and her team.”

The integration will allow the two systems to calculate the total cost of items on any days menu, the prices that will be listed and analyze reports of total sales to help organizations better manage their production forecasts.  The interface will be available to clients who have Computrition’s Hospitality Suite® products and the Blackboard Transaction System™.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with Blackboard to enable seamless communication between Computrition’s Hospitality Suite and the Blackboard Transaction System”, says Scott Saklad, Computrition’s President & Catalyst. “Knowing that the Blackboard team is as committed to their customers as we are is the basis for this partnership, and the efficiencies garnered will prove incredibly valuable.”

Hundreds of colleges and universities license either Computrition or Blackboard applications in order to manage production, inventory, ordering, revenue generation, and campus life services.
