CardSmith Certifies Pcounter Network Printing Solution from AND Technologies

Basking Ridge, NJ:   CardSmith and A.N.D Technologies are pleased to announce that the Pcounter Network Printing solution has been certified with CardSmith’s transaction processing center and is available for use by all current and prospective CardSmith clients.  

Pcounter is a comprehensive network-oriented printer accounting and management software suite enabling network administrators to manage printing and walk-up copying centrally. The system integrates accounting, load balancing, and queue management into a single cross-platform interface which works with both Microsoft Windows (NT4 or later) and Novell NetWare networks at the same time.  Pcounter tracks print jobs from any platform (PC, Mac, Unix) which can print to a NetWare, NDPS, or Windows print queue. It works with all major printer types. 

The Pcounter application has been fully-integrated with the CardSmith transaction processing center, so students and other cardholders can use campus ID cards with declining balance accounts to pay for print jobs.  Pcounter prices jobs based on type of ink used, paper stock and size, duplex or single-sided printing and other variables.  CardSmith then sends a sub-second authorization back to the terminal to release the job.
