Introducing Bluetooth-enabled
MagneSafeTM

MagTek, Inc., a global leader in

today announced the introduction of
Bluetooth-enabled MagneSafe card
readers. The convenience of a
Bluetooth wireless interface is now
added to the long list of features
in the MagneSafe family of readers,
including MagnePrint® for card
authentication, 3DES encryption, and
Web authentication among others.
The MagneSafe P55 is the first model
to incorporate Bluetooth capability.
It is a secure reader, small enough
to fit into your pocket or the palm
of your hand, empowering today’s
internet and cell phone users with
the freedom and confidence of a
secure, fast, and convenient
transaction payment experience for
online banking and e-commerce
applications.
MagTek’s P55 reader is now able to
establish wireless, bi-directional
communication with a PC or mobile
phone using the popular Bluetooth
interface. “The wireless interface
and enhanced security features in
the P55 create a powerful
combination to accomplish the
convenience and card data protection
demanded by today’s mobile users,”
said Annmarie “Mimi” Hart, President
and CEO of MagTek.
The P55 includes a rechargeable
battery that supports hundreds of
card swipes, and can be easily
recharged from a USB port or
standard 5V source. Like other
Bluetooth devices, the P55 offers a
range of 10m (approximately 33 ft.)
and is FCC approved.
