PNC and
Edinboro University Announce Extension of
University Banking Contract
EDINBORO, Pa.,
April 27, 2007 - PNC Bank, National
Association,
announced today the five-year renewal of its
University Banking contract
with Edinboro University, extending the
contract through December, 2011.
This relationship provides the university's
more than 8,500 students,
faculty and staff with easy access to a
variety of PNC resources,
including preferably priced financial
services, a university ID card
that is linked to their bank accounts and
customized web sites. In
addition, PNC customers from Edinboro can
register for free PNC
AutoAlerts to monitor spending and account
balances and receive one free
wire transfer a month.
"PNC is proud of our long standing
relationship with Edinboro and
supports this outstanding institution and
its contributions to academic
excellence, diversity and the Edinboro
family," said Marlene Mosco,
PNC’s Northwest Pennsylvania regional
president.
In addition to accounts geared toward the
university community, PNC
offers free educational seminars on basic
banking, credit management and
fraud prevention on the Edinboro campus. PNC
also hosts customized
Edinboro web pages where students can
complete account applications,
manage their finances and find information.
Every Edinboro customer
benefits from on-campus resources such as
two ATMs (with one more to be
added per the new contract) and a customer
service center located in Van
Houten Hall. In addition, the full service
Erie Street branch is located
just one block from campus.
Edinboro has joined Seton Hall, Robert
Morris, Scranton and Duquesne
Universities in issuing a co-branded PNC
Bank Visa Check Card. The
co-branded card works the same as the PNC
Bank Check Card by linking to
a PNC Bank checking account and it can be
used at ATMs and to make
purchases anywhere Visa is accepted.
PNC is making banking even easier for
students, faculty and staff who
have the option of adding ATM and purchasing
functionality to the
identification card they use for
campus-related purposes such as
entering residence halls, checking out
library books and accessing meal
plans.
"This is an integrated, one-card solution
that ties deposit account
access to the Edinboro ID card — a card that
all students, staff and
faculty members carry," Debbie Finnegan,
University Banking relationship
manager. "PNC customers have the added
convenience of combining banking
and campus services on one card."
PNC is a leading student lender in
Pennsylvania that has relationships
with more than 100 schools across an
eight-state region, including 13
alliance schools that have extensive
relationships with PNC, including
the University of Pittsburgh, Temple
University and the University of
Pennsylvania.
