CORESTREET LAUNCHES SECURITY INITIATIVE THAT BRINGS CONVERGENT SECURITY PRODUCTS TO COMMERCIAL SECTOR
Nine OEMs, VARs and SIs Announce CoreStreet-Enabled Products for End-to-End Solutions
ORLANDO, FLA. -- Sept. 12, 2005 -- CoreStreet, a leading provider of infrastructure and applications for smart credentials, today launched a major initiative with manufacturers, value-added resellers and integrators that brings CoreStreet technologies proven in the highest-security government environments into the commercial sector to protect physical and IT assets.
Announced with nine charter member companies here at the ASIS International
2005 Conference, the new CoreStreet Partner Program paves the way for broad adoption of converged security solutions that give public and private institutions the ability to control access to buildings, computers and devices centrally, with each person using their one card for all access.
For the last two years, CoreStreet's validation technology has been deployed to support the global data networks of U.S. intelligence agencies and the military, including the Common Access Card (CAC) program from the Department of Defense. The CAC program has been the largest convergence effort undertaken by the Federal government.
The charter members announced today are SARGENT, Precise Biometrics, Indala Corp., Cybertrust, OMNIKEY, ActivCard, Probaris, Anteon International, and DAP Technologies.
Together these companies make available commercially for the first time a portfolio of CoreStreet-enabled products and services that provide complete solutions for single-credential access to physical locations and electronic information.
"'Convergence' has been predicted as the future of security for years," said Steve Hunt, President and CEO of security consulting firm 4A International.
"But bringing together the two very different worlds of proprietary physical security and standards-based IT security has been a barrier for equipment manufacturers, and the consultants and integrators who design and install new systems. Today CoreStreet and these nine companies have shown that they've developed a way to remove that barrier."
CoreStreet-enabled products and services comply with government regulations, including the recent Homeland Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), which affects nearly all Federal employees and contractors. HSPD-12 is projected to reach up to 100 million people within the next ten years if the standard is adopted by state and local governments and private enterprise.
"It's through the vision of these companies and their commitment of resources that cost-effective, convergent security solutions for enterprise, government and institutional users are now a reality," said Phil Libin, President of CoreStreet. "As we look ahead, the continued efforts and innovation from member companies will bring more choices to end customers to design and deploy a converged security system that meets their unique needs."
As part of the new initiative, CoreStreet partner companies will provide full end-to-end solutions in physical access control through CoreStreet-enabled card readers, locksets, and systems software. And for IT systems security, partner companies are introducing CoreStreet-enabled desktop card readers and middleware, business process solutions and hosted services. For deployment anywhere, even without access to a wired or wireless connection, mobile validation systems bring together integration services with rugged handheld devices.
These CoreStreet-enabled products and services will be rolled out from CoreStreet partner companies and their channels beginning in the fourth quarter of this year.
Attendees at ASIS International 2005 in Orlando, FL from Sept. 12-14 can see demonstrations of CoreStreet-enabled solutions in booth 283 and learn how their companies can join the CoreStreet Partner Program or design new CoreStreet-enabled solutions into their security infrastructure.
