University of Scranton Affinity PNC Check
Card Makes Debut
PNC
has introduced The University of Scranton
affinity check card, a PNC Bank Visa Check
Card embellished with the university's logo.
PNC Bank affinity check cards are PNC Bank
Visa Check Cards that express support for a
university (The University of Scranton),
team (Pittsburgh Steelers) or cause
(Philadelphia Flower Show). An affinity
check card functions the same way as a PNC
Bank Visa Check Card. The card is linked to
a PNC Bank checking account and can be used
instead of cash or checks to make purchases
anywhere Visa is accepted. The card can also
be used to access checking accounts through
an ATM.
The University of Scranton has had a
relationship with PNC since 2003, and became
an affiliate of PNC's University Banking
program in September 2005 with the signing
of a five-year preferred banking services
agreement.
The university is the fifth partner school
to establish a co-branded check card program
with PNC. The bank also issues co-branded
PNC Bank Visa Check Cards for Robert Morris
University, Edinboro University, Duquesne
University and Seton Hall University.
"The new affinity card is available to
anyone with a PNC checking account," says
Madhu Medepalli, University Banking
relationship manager. "We anticipate The
University of Scranton students, faculty and
staff, was well as anyone affiliated
with the university, such as alumni or
parents of university students, will
especially enjoy using it."
"The card is a great way to market PNC's
products and services, and demonstrate the
bank's commitment to making banking easy and
convenient for the university community,"
says Medepalli. "The co-branded card also
has marketing benefits for The University of
Scranton. Anyone holding the card carries a
little piece of the university with them
wherever they go."
The University of Scranton affinity check
card is available through any PNC Bank
branch or the National Financial Services
Center.
PNC's University Banking program serves 11
alliance schools, including The University
of Scranton, University of Pittsburgh, Penn
State University, University of
Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University,
Temple University, Duquesne University,
Seton Hall University, Indiana University of
Pennsylvania, Robert Morris University and
Edinboro University.
