Arrowhead Credit Union in San Bernardino, CA is using the IntelliPIN at the teller window to help reduce fraud and identity theft and increase security and payment transaction speeds. The member swipes his or her card and keys his or her PIN into the IntelliPIN to provide positive identification when performing a transaction. Once the PIN is verified, the customer’s account information is displayed instantly on the teller PC.

“Our personable Member Services Representatives and Tellers know many of our members by name”, said Vaughn Book, Arrowhead’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology. “However, as Arrowhead expanded the number of branches to 25, familiarity and recognition were not as easy and we needed to assure our members we are doing more to protect them against identity theft” added Mr. Book.

Mr. Book saw the value of MagTek’s IntelliPIN® product and its ease of integration allowed his team to write the middleware that provided the direct interface to Arrowhead’s core data processing system for PIN verification. In today’s fast changing financial environment, positive identification of the account holder and increased value of the use of Arrowhead’s Debit Card product have resulted in better member service and cardholder security.
