NACAS NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release: October 26, 2006
Peter Fraser Elected President, Charlottesville, Virginia – On Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego, California, Peter Fraser was installed as President of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS). He will serve as president for a term of one year.
Peter Fraser is administered the oath of office by Parliamentarian and Past President Dr. Jeffrey Pittman. Fraser, who has served one term as Vice President and one term as President Elect of the Association, in addition to numerous regional leadership roles, addressed the membership and accepted the challenge and the honor of being elected president. He is the first non-US president of the Association, and is part of a growing Canadian constituency. Fraser is Director of Ancillary Services at the University of Calgary. He has been an active member and volunteer leader in NACAS, has served as regional president and on various boards and committees. Also elected to the 2007 Board of Directors, were the following individuals: Patricia Eldred, Director of AFS Auxiliary Services at the University of Vermont, was installed as NACAS Vice President. Bob Francisco, Director of Auxiliary Services at Colorado School of mines, was installed as NACAS West Director. Marti Gray, Executive Director of Cal State University – San Marcos Foundation, moved from her position as NACAS West Director to At-Large Director. All individuals have served in various leadership roles, including terms as president of their respective NACAS regional associations. President Fraser and the new members to the Board were installed in the same ceremony, which took place in conjunction with the NACAS 38th Annual Conference.
