FINANCIAL SERVICES TO EL PASO COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Enhancements link EPCC Best Start Card to Wells Fargo accounts

EL PASO – Oct. 24, 2005  -  Starting November 2005, Wells Fargo will be providing enhanced campus card benefits and financial services to the students, faculty and staff of El Paso Community College (EPCC).

Wells Fargo will introduce the new EPCC Best Start Card in November 2005, which will give students the option to link their official ID cards to their Wells Fargo checking accounts and use them for various campus services, such as library access and as ATM/PIN-based debit cards. In addition, financial aid disbursements will be distributed through the EPCC Best Start Card. Cardholders will also be able to access their Wells Fargo checking and savings accounts, enjoy the convenience of online banking and organize their finances with My Spending Report, a new online tool that categorizes purchases

"We are pleased to offer our successful campus card program to El Paso Community College," said Steve Helbing, Wells Fargo community banking president for El Paso. “The Best Start Card is the next step in enhancing our range of diverse financial services for the El Paso community and we’re excited about this opportunity.”

Wells Fargo has the fourth-largest network of ATMs in the nation, with more than 6,200 locations. EPCC students will be able to conveniently access cash through their EPCC Best Start cards with 32 ATMs available in El Paso, and the EPCC Best Start Card can also be used at merchants that accept PIN-based transactions.

“The enhanced benefits of the new card and the services Wells Fargo provides will serve our students, faculty and staff well,” said Dr. Ernst Roberts, executive assistant to the president at El Paso Community College.

Wells Fargo will offer cardholders a broad range of financial products and services at no cost – including free checking and online banking. Wells Fargo will provide onsite account opening services for university students, faculty and staff during peak registration and orientation times throughout October, November and December, and will also attend the El Paso Community College Vendor Fair the week of October 24.
