U.S. Bank and SDSU Make Campus Card Easier to Load

San Diego State University (SDSU) students, faculty and staff are getting more than campus identification with their SDSUcards this year. Now, the card that can pay for certain on-campus services can be loaded quickly and easily via U.S. Bank Internet Banking, if the cardholder is a U.S. Bank customer.

The enhancement complements the functions that were introduced earlier this year that allow the card to be used in ATMs globally.  Customers no longer have to use traditional means during regular business hours to deposit cash on to their card, such as at a funds transfer station (similar to an ATM) or other designated locations on campus. Now they transfer money to the card accounts (known as SDSUfunds) from their U.S. Bank accounts, 24-hours-a-day from any computer via a secure Internet connection at usbank.com. The new capability is key for those late nights printing term papers in the computer lab or a last minute load of laundry.

U.S. Bank won the SDSU Campusbank Card contract in November 2002. The SDSUcard provides official identification and access to campus photocopy machines, student laundry facilities, health services, the pharmacy and computer labs and now, banking programs.  U.S. Bank also offers Aztec Checking that carries the SDSU name and logo for anyone (including alumni) who want to display SDSU pride whenever and wherever they pull out their checkbooks.

SDSU is one of 19 colleges and universities that partner with U.S. Bank for a campus card program. Others include Iowa State University, Xavier University and the University of Louisville.
