Diebold announces latest version of CS Gold

Diebold, Incorporated has announced the introduction of CS Gold® 4.1, the newest version of its campus card solution.

Working together with the State University of New York (SUNY) in Albany and the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), Diebold made enhancements to CS Gold 4.0 which will improve efficiency and usability and incorporate new functionality.  System advancements in CS Gold 4.1 include Conference Card issuance, integration of alarm panels and digital video recorders (DVRs), new and enhanced graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and more. 

Brian McCarthy, SUNY-Albany’s SUNYCard System Administrator, and Kent Pawlak, UTA’s director of Campus Card Services, are two key players in the advancement of campus card solutions.  McCarthy’s and Pawlak’s vast experience in beta testing and use of innovative techniques continues to generate improvements in Diebold’s campus card systems. Their unique perspectives and creative use of standard functionality inspires system developers and users to advance the technology.

The integration of alarm receivers and DVRs into the CS Alarm Management™ module takes advantage of Diebold’s 143 years of security experience.  It gives colleges and universities the ability to turn any workstation into a alarm monitoring station. CS Alarm Management can automatically activate administratively pre-programmed responses when an alarm is triggered. The new features within the module allow for CS Gold to record events from cameras in the vicinity of the alarm.

Kent Pawlak said, "The security information coming from CS Gold has more dependable and accurate information for security officers on campus. The most beneficial features are flexibility, integration of alarms, access control and multiple-alarm monitoring."

"Diebold has extensive experience with this type of security integration for financial institutions, but the UTA project was the first time we have done this level of integration for higher education.
