Fast Food Now Faster
With Online Ordering
Macon, Georgia — The
convenience of great
food is now just a click
away. Mercer Dining
Services is excited to
announce that it is now
offering online food
ordering for Mercer
University faculty,
staff and students.
Online orders can be
placed during normal
business hours at Grille
Works and the Side Bar
Café by visiting the
Campus Dish Website at
www.mercer.campusdish.com.
“Online ordering is
designed to allow our
students, faculty and
staff to maximize their
time during the day. No
one really enjoys
standing in line to
place an order and then
have to wait until the
order is completed,”
said Ed Davis, director
of Food Services.
“With online ordering, a
student can place their
order and pay before
they go to class or even
during class so that
when they come to the
food court or other
locations their order
is already waiting for
them to pick up. All
they have to do is
pick it up, select the
beverage of their choice
and walk out.”
Placing an order is easy
— click on the online
ordering tab at the top
of the Campus Dish Home
Page, select menu items,
add them to a cart,
check out and pick up
the order at a
convenient time. All
purchases must be paid
in full at the time of
ordering by using Dining
Dollars or a Bear Card.
Not only does online
ordering save time, but
it allows more time to
read over the menu items
before making a
selection and improves
order accuracy.
“Providing the online
service is our response
to giving students what
they want,” said Ken
Boyer, interim director
of Auxiliary Services.
“We had received
requests from Mercer law
students for the added
convenience, so we
decided to implement a
service that can be
utilized by everyone on
campus.”
Online ordering at
Mercer University food
outlets was developed by
a joint effort of Mercer
Dining Services,
Auxiliary Services and
Sequoia Retail Systems,
Inc. (SRS). SRS is a
leading provider of
integrated e-commerce,
point-of-sale,
self-service kiosk and
mobile technology
solutions that are
utilized by colleges and
universities across the
nation. Mercer is the
first to use the SRS
solution for online food
service.
“Although Sequoia has
been providing eCommerce
solutions to colleges
and universities for
over 10 years, the team
at Mercer University and
ARAMARK provided us with
valuable input that lead
to the successful
deployment of this new
state of the art online
food ordering system,“
stated John Diaz, vice
president of Business
Development at Sequoia
Retail Systems, Inc.
“This project is a great
example of how ARAMARK
and Mercer have used
Sequoia’s online
technology to provide a
time saving and customer
friendly service to not
just students, but the
entire campus
community.”
Because Mercer
University is the first
to implement this online
food ordering solution,
it will set the standard
for other campuses
across the country.
Mercer Dining Services
is committed to offering
the best foodservice,
best food quality and
convenience to enhance
the dining experience of
everyone on the Mercer
campus.
