WELLS FARGO,
UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO
GO GREEN, EXTEND
CAMPUS CARD PROGRAM
GREELEY, Colo., Oct. 17, 2008 − The
University of Northern Colorado (UNC)
in Greeley, Colo., has extended its
relationship with Wells Fargo to
offer its campus card program
through June 2013. Students, staff,
and faculty have the option to link
their campus ID card – the UNC Card
– to a Wells Fargo checking account
giving cardholders debit card access
to cash at ATMs and the ability to
make PIN-based purchases.
This fall incoming
freshmen received their UNC Card and
a specially
designed “Go Green”
mug to promote waste reduction from
the UNC Card Office and Wells Fargo.
Students also receive a discount on
beverages purchased at on-campus
retailers when they use their “Go
Green” mug.
UNC and Wells Fargo
have worked together since 1998 to
issue a multi-use campus card
offering banking functionality to
all university community members,
including students, faculty, and
staff. In addition, Wells Fargo
operates a full-service banking
store on the UNC campus.
While continuing to serve as an
official campus ID card, the UNC
Card also provides all cardholders
with access to library services,
entry to UNC events and activities,
as well as optional calling card
services, all with the same card.
When linked to a
Wells Fargo checking account, the
card offers additional benefits,
including Wells Fargo Online®
Banking, Wells Fargo MobileSM
Banking, Direct Deposit, and access
to more than 200 Wells Fargo®
ATMs in Colorado and more than 6,900
Wells Fargo ATMs in 23
states.
"Wells Fargo is
pleased to continue offering this
innovative campus card program to
UNC," said Bill Kurtz, Wells Fargo
Community Banking president for the
Greeley Market. “We are committed to
building lasting relationships with
our customers to help them succeed
financially, and this service is an
important step in that direction for
the UNC community.”
Added Randy Haack,
UNC’s senior vice president for
Administration: “Wells Fargo is a
strong supporter of UNC and the
community. Their support for
students and the campus community
goes well beyond our business
partnership.”
Wells Fargo offers a
wide range of programs developed
especially for students—including
financial education workshops and
the Hands on Banking®
financial education online program
(at www.handsonbanking.org).
