“As students’ purchasing patterns
and new technologies have evolved,
we determined it was time to update
our existing Aggie Bucks program and
provide our university community
with new options and convenience to
meet those needs,” said Texas A&M
Vice President for Finance and Chief
Financial Officer Terry Pankratz.
The original Aggie Bucks program,
first introduced in the 1980s, was
used for dining on campus and was
later expanded to include purchases
at the campus book store. In 1998,
Wells Fargo and Texas A&M teamed up
to take the Aggie Bucks program off
campus, providing students the
opportunity to use their
university-issued Aggie Cards to
make purchases at a wide variety of
merchants both on and off campus
with their Aggie Bucks university
currency.
“We are very pleased to continue our
long-standing relationship with
Wells Fargo and are excited to have
this new value-added and unique
offering for our university
community,” said Pankratz.
The new debit card – the Aggie Bucks
Unlimited Gold Card – is offered to
everyone currently enrolled or
employed at Texas A&M University,
and allows cardholders to access
their linked Wells Fargo checking
accounts. The card features Texas
A&M crest imagery and the official
university logo.
“The Aggie Bucks Unlimited Gold Card
works just like a standard Wells
Fargo Gold Check Card, with all of
the same features and benefits,”
said Carol Gravis, Wells Fargo
Bryan-based Community Banking
president. “We’ve already had more
than 2,500 people sign up for the
debit card and are pleased to
formally offer it to Texas A&M
University students, faculty and
employees.”
The Aggie Bucks Unlimited Gold Card
offers:
-
Purchase capability
everywhere VisaŽ debit cards are
accepted, including grocery stores,
restaurants, gas stations — even
Internet and phone purchases.
-
Option for cardholders to
enroll in a Debit Rewards program.
-
Access to Wells Fargo’s
network of more than 12,000 ATMs.
Texas A&M students, faculty and
staff may request the Aggie Bucks
Unlimited Gold Card at any of Wells
Fargo’s six banking locations in
Bryan/College Station, including one
in the General Services Complex on
campus. Wells Fargo customers may
