CBORD® Campus
Security Monitor™ Improves
Situational Awareness
Solution combines intelligent
video, access control, and alarm
management
Monday, July 6, 2009
Ithaca, New York:
The CBORD Group, Inc., the
leading provider of campus card
and integrated security
solutions to colleges and
universities, is pleased to
announce the release of CBORD
Campus Security Monitor™, an
application designed to enhance
situational awareness for campus
security professionals. The
application, aimed at users of
CBORD’s campus card and
integrated security solutions,
pulls together data from
multiple applications in a
unified interface for optimal
ease of management.
Security Monitor provides a
“snapshot” of campus security
operations at a glance and makes
it easy to respond to security
events in real time, rather than
dealing with multiple software
applications. Users can view
past and present access
requests, monitor and respond to
alarm states, view patron images
related to specific events, and
view live and recorded video
linked to alarms, card swipes,
motion, and camera tours.
Security Monitor’s customizable
interface lets users decide what
information is most important,
and presents it in an intuitive
and actionable manner.
“We have a huge video
infrastructure on our campus,
and Security Monitor gives our
dispatch officers and
investigative team a quick view
of many different areas of
operation,” says John Matherson,
Manager, Aggie OneCard Center,
North Carolina A&T State
University. “The solution lets
us map video to card access
locations and makes it easy for
officers to acknowledge alarms.
Plus, we can customize the view
for different shifts or users,
so the dispatchers and
investigative team each see what
is most important to them.”
“We implemented Security Monitor
to provide our dispatch officers
with a user-friendly way to get
alarm and access information,”
says John Bonass, Manager,
University Card Systems,
Villanova University. “Our
Public Safety team uses it 24/7
to monitor doors, lock and
unlock locations, etc. Security
Monitor requires very little
training and provides another
way to effectively monitor your
campus.”
“CBORD Campus Security Monitor
is designed with the dispatcher
in mind, making it easy to
manage far-reaching areas of
campus security with a single,
intuitive interface,” says Cindy
McCall, Vice President,
Marketing, The CBORD Group, Inc.
“CBORD solutions allow
universities to benefit from
shared data between
mission-critical technology
solutions, and Security Monitor
is a great example of that.”
