Georgia Tech Students Go
Ticketless for Football Game
Thanks to Schlage Wireless System, Only Student Card
Was Needed ATLANTA, GA (INGERSOLL RAND NEWS SERVICE)
-- For the first time in Atlantic Coast Conference
football history, students did not have to use
tickets to enter a stadium. Instead, Georgia Tech
students attending the Virginia Tech game on
Saturday, October 24, entered Bobby Dodd Stadium
using only their student ID cards via Schlage
wireless readers incorporated in the turnstiles. The
system checked the student's ID card against the
school's Blackboard database to verify that the
student was eligible for admission. According to Don
Smith, Georgia Tech Buzz Card director, the Schlage
wireless application eliminates all lost tickets,
fraud and ticket scalping, resulting in significant
savings for Georgia Tech. It was a win-win day for
Georgia Tech students as the 19th-ranked Yellow
Jackets upset the 4th-ranked Hokies.
Security Technologies' Education Solutions vertical
market team provides innovative solutions for the
education market with One Card partners Blackboard,
CBORD and Heartland. All three major providers have
incorporated Schlage wireless readers into their
product portfolios, proving once again that Schlage

at Georgia Tech was due to a team effort
led
by Curt Crick of the local Security Technologies

Todd Ginter from Schlage.
