Illinois Institute of Technology Improves Security While Reducing Labor

University benefits from integrated campus card, access control, and intelligent video solutions

The university has implemented the CS Access™ facility access control solution, Odyssey PCS™ campus card system, Odyssey HMS™ housing management software, and NiceVision^® intelligent video technology, which integrate seamlessly with each other and other solutions across campus to improve efficiency.

IIT utilizes CS Access’ integration with Odyssey PCS and Odyssey HMS to streamline assignment processes. When a residential assignment is made, the corresponding systems are automatically updated, granting access privileges and assigning schedules without any intervention from staff. This simplified procedure allows for quick assignment processes and reduces the risk of human error.

By removing the step of manually granting access with individual transactions, we save time and greatly reduce the potential for mistakes.”

The university also implemented the NiceVision intelligent video solution from CBORD partner NICE Systems, Inc. NiceVision integrates with CS Access and CS Action & Response Management™, CBORD’s alarm management solution, to allow staff to manage access control, alarm management, and video surveillance from a single GUI. This makes it easy to spot and acknowledge security incidents quickly.
