DISO Adds Two New Solutions to the US Government's Approved Product List

Digital Identification Solutions AG (DISO), a leading international ID solutions provider, has recently received notification from the US General Services Administration (GSA) that its two recent submissions to the FIPS 201 product list have been approved.

The first approved Card Printer Station (CPS) posted on the Approved Products List (APL) for US government agencies to purchase after the establishment of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) was our very own EDIsecure® XID 590i Retransfer Printer and Inline Lamination Unit (ILU) combined solution back in August of 2006, after the APL program was setup following the government’s initiative to create interoperability rules between agencies through the Federal Information Processing Standards, publication 201 (FIPS 201).

Since then, that solution was updated to the more recent EDIsecure® XID 590ie series model, using the same ILU Laminator. Just this week, two new solutions have received the same GSA approval for US federal agencies to purchase – the EDIsecure® XID 8300 Retransfer ID Card Printer and ILM-DS combined system, and the EDIsecure® DCP 360+ Direct ID Card Printer and ILM combined system. This now allows Digital Identification Solutions and its reseller partners to offer three unique, FIPS 201 certified solutions to federal departments and the integrators and contractors that serve them, to create truly secure and interoperable ID cards for all of their employees.

“Having all three of these solutions on the GSA APL gives our reseller partners a clear advantage over the competition, by offering the widest array of solutions on the most reliable and proven printer systems in the world,” says Ed Cochran, General Manager of DISO’s North and South American operations. “With three different card printer solutions now on the GSA’s APL, our resellers are able to supply solutions carefully matched to our customers’ requirements.”

In addition to the same printing, encoding and lamination options as its predecessor, the XID 590ie/ILU Solution, the EDIsecure® XID 8300/ILM-DS System provides the same level of quality and reliability in a smaller footprint and at a lower cost. The EDIsecure® DCP 360+/ILM Solution offers even greater speed in a direct card format, all while offering the same encoding and lamination options as its retransfer siblings.

To be certified on the APL, all three solutions were required to have their card output tested by separate third party agencies to verify that they could meet the GSA’s strict standards.
