WEPA catches fire with
Higher Education
Say goodbye to traditional
printing and “Hello” to
cloud printing from the
World’s first turnkey Cloud
Print solution.
Birmingham, AL.
WEPA (pronounced wee-pah) is
an acronym for Wireless
Everywhere Print Anywhere.
WEPA, Inc is setting the new
standard for printing on
college campuses says Frank
Griffith, CEO and co-founder
of WEPA, Inc. “Traditional
printing in labs and
libraries will eventually
become the thing of the
past. As more and more
students are using mobiles
devices such as tablets,
smart phones and laptops for
schoolwork, they no longer
have the need to use the
labs and libraries as in the
past. As mobile technology
becomes the wave of the
future, mobile printing will
be the future as well. The
labs that once housed an
abundance of computers and
printers are no longer
needed and the valuable real
estate can be used for more
classrooms or something
else. WEPA, with its turnkey
cloud based print system, is
literally changing the way
students’ print on campus
and higher education
institutions are taking
notice” says Griffith.
Since their inception in
2010, WEPA has been on fire.
According to Griffith, every
university wonders where our
technology has been. They
are really excited about the
opportunity to provide their
student with the latest
technology on the market.
And why not, students demand
technology and universities
are seeking to oblige.
WEPA has signed over
$16,000,000 in contracts for
this fall semester. We are
running out of inventory for
the fall semester and are
now talking with campuses
about spring implementation
says Griffith, who has been
the mastermind behind the
WEPA concept. WEPA will
implement their system in
over 30 campuses this fall
and have over 70 that will
be implemented in the
spring. It has been
overwhelming in the U.S. not
to mention that Europe is
bringing the WEPA technology
to several countries
according to Griffith.
WEPA utilizes “cloud
computing and printing”
through Internet 2, which
allows college students the
luxury of uploading print
documents to the WEPA
private network and printing
them at their convenience at
any WEPA kiosk- not only on
their campus, but anywhere
in the world. WEPA places
kiosks at multiple locations
on campuses to help
re-distribute the printing
bottleneck. WEPA will have
over 2000 kiosks placed by
summer 2012. With WEPA,
students can print in
residential housing,
cafeterias, student centers
as well as classrooms, labs
and libraries.
WEPA is unique to the
printing world because it
can handle print products
from multiple platforms
(Windows, Mac, Linux and
Unix) and students can
insert their USB jump-drive
at the kiosk, pull up their
documents and print on the
go. Furthermore, WEPA can
blanket a campus with its
high-powered proprietary
wireless Internet that
reaches out twelve miles.
