[New Haven, CT – July 18,

Higher One, Inc.,
a
technology and payment

higher education,
announced that Frederick
Community College, located
in Frederick, Maryland, will
implement its
OneDisburse Refund
Management funds
disbursement service on
campus. Each year nearly
10,000 students take classes
at Frederick, many of whom
receive refund monies.
Higher One will provide an
efficient and streamlined
new process that will
benefit both administrators
and the students they serve.
Higher One’s OneDisburse
Refund Management funds
disbursement service will
enable a simpler, automated
refund process from which
administrators and students
alike will benefit.
Frederick Community College
Financial Aid and other
refunds are currently
distributed to students via
paper check which is “a long
and time consuming process,”
said Deborah Judd, Associate
Vice President of Fiscal and
Auxiliary Service at
Frederick. “We wanted to
find a way to more
efficiently process refunds
as well as get students
their money quicker.” Judd
went on to say that the
decision to partner with
Higher One was easy, “It
made sense to go with a
vendor who has a proven
track record of providing
this service.”
In addition to simplifying
the refund process and
bringing cost savings,
Higher One provides other
benefits to students. The
Company actively advocates
for student
financial literacy and
has implemented many
programs to educate students
about financial choices and
responsibility.
