Locknetics/IR Security & Safety Awarded Electronic Access Control Contract at New Central Connecticut State University Student Center

Locknetics Security Engineering, an electronic access control system manufacturer based in Forestville, CT, will be supplying standalone, computer managed (CM) locks for the Central Connecticut State University renovated Student Center.  Completion is expected in Spring of 2002.

The new student center will be a state-of-the-art building on the CCSU campus located in New Britain, CT. The Student Center, as a student union, is the “living room” or “hearthstone of the campus community, providing community service, student development opportunities and various services that support student life.

Lounges, conference rooms, a multi-purpose room, a game room, information services, facilities scheduling, e-mail accessibility, a box office, fax machines, bookstore, cafeteria, student mailboxes and social programs and Student Club and organizational offices are all available to the campus community.

The decision to select Locknetics was based on their locking systems’ ability to function with the card system already in place on campus as well as CCSU’s positive experience with other CM locks installed on the campus.

Locknetics will also be supplying the computer managed exit devices along with the CM locks.  Access control software to manage the Locknetics’ CM products is already in place on the CCSU campus.  The capabilities of the Locknetics CM products and software provide unmatched functionality and flexibility for the diverse needs of colleges & universities.

Central Connecticut State University is a public university with 12,368 students and has been in existence since 1849.
