James Madison University and Case Western Reserve University choose Student Advantage's "SA Cash" to expand their one-card programs

Students can use their ID instead of cash or credit at local merchants

James Madison University and Case Western Reserve University have selected Student Advantage, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: STADD) SA Cash program to launch an off-campus stored-value "cashless" program for more than 30,500 students, faculty, and staff at the two schools.  Both programs are scheduled to be up and running this fall.

Adding the SA Cash function to the schools' IDs will enable students, faculty, and staff at James Madison and Case Western Reserve University to buy food, necessities, and entertainment at off-campus businesses in Harrisonburg, VA and Cleveland, OH, respectively. Students at the two schools currently use their IDs for on-campus dining, laundry facilities, building access, printing and copying services, and vending machines.

Student Advantage builds its off-campus networks, in conjunction with the university, by screening, recruiting and offering marketing support for local merchants. Student Advantage also provides merchants with proprietary transaction processing equipment that is compatible with the university's host system and permits transaction settlement through the university. Partner universities and Student Advantage share a percentage of each transaction. In addition, Student Advantage offers university card programs website maintenance and development services, and a communications plan that will inform students about the ID and its applications.

"James Madison University wanted to enhance our debit card program by providing our students and staff with the convenience of using their JACard FLEX accounts at off-campus merchants," said Becky Hinkle, director of card services at James Madison University. "SA Cash provided us with a solution that is a win/win situation for students, merchants and James Madison."

"We're extremely excited to provide more convenient and flexible dining options to our student body by taking our card program off-campus," said Richard Jamieson, director of campus services at Case Western Reserve University. "SA Cash is the type of program our students were looking for, and we're glad we could deliver it to them."

James Madison University and Case Western Reserve University follow the June 10 announcement that the University of Mississippi and William Paterson University have become a part of the SA Cash network of schools. The four universities are the latest in a growing number of campuses that have adopted the SA Cash Program. Other schools that have added Student Advantage's SA Cash function to their IDs include Dartmouth, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon and American University.
