Reporting to the Sr. Director of IT for Auxiliary Enterprises, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing general IT support across all Auxiliary Enterprises. IT-related tasks may include setting up, managing, and troubleshooting technology systems used by each business unit associated with the Office of Auxiliary Enterprises. Duties may include providing end-user support with laptop and desktop computers; providing support for card readers, printers, or other IT and computer peripherals; assistance with Howard University's physical and Wi-Fi network; diagnosing and resolving hardware problems including specialized hardware such as point-of-sale terminals, building controllers, and laundry machine interface devices; configuring and updating system and application software; and tracking down data and communication issues.
