The Systems Administrator is one of two technology support positions within the Office of Residential Life. The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting departmental information technology and the management of various databases, including the StarRez housing management system. The Systems Administrator also assists in the analysis, development, and restructuring of business processes as needed.

The Systems Administrator provides technical support for the implementation of all departmental services. This position manages the daily operation of the StarRez housing database and is the first-tier support for any issues with the system. This position manages residential life technology (i.e. lounge TVs, staff computers & printers, webcams), department listservs, and all other systems controlled and maintained by Residential Life (Traka and CCure). The Systems Administrator makes recommendations to the Associate Director and Director for Housing Operations for the acquisition of new programs and software to improve office and business processes.

The position also assists with the residence hall access systems for over 30 residential facilities and 7,700 residents. The Systems Administrator acts as a liaison with campus partners, including Information Technology, Dining Services, Facilities Services, and Boston College Police Department.
