The University of Pittsburgh is undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation centered on enhancing safety, security, and the overall campus experience. A core component of this initiative is the transition from traditional plastic ID cards to a fully digital mobile credential available through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. This presentation will explore how safety and security guided every phase of this evolution from technology selection and integration, to implementation planning, stakeholder collaboration, and communication strategies.
