How to Get the Most Out of NACCU Resources
How to Get the Most Out of NACCU Resources
There is a great amount of innovation that continues to take place in the higher education card industry. NACCU works to provide you with a steady stream of new resources to keep pace with all the changes. Making the most out of the NACCU resources available to you requires you to try something new on a regular basis. We suggest trying something each week from these recommendations:
Access the Information
- Take time on a regular basis to review the valuable information in The Vault and the new videos on naccuTV. Every week, we upload new content to these two hubs. From policies and procedures to marketing ideas to off-campus merchant programs, we look to provide best practices and standards to help you in your role. We convert nearly all our virtual programming into recordings that you can access after the live event.
- Every college and university has that list of aspirational peer institutions. Often, there is one school nearby (an in-state rival, maybe?) and everyone on campus brings up their name regularly. The NACCU Campus Profile contains a load of information that you can’t find on the internet about each school’s ID operation. Stay up to date on what other schools are doing!
- Are you planning to go out to bid in the next year for a new system? But you’re not even sure who are the vendors in the space OR what qualities you are looking for in your next solution. You need to prepare yourself by reviewing our RFP & Procurement Resources. Then you need to learn about the companies in this market and the latest innovations they offer – you can do that at the Vendor Xchange.
Participate in the Events
- NACCU has created a robust series of virtual events that allow you to directly ask the presenters questions and hear from other colleagues from across the profession. Nearly all these virtual programs are included in your membership at no additional cost. Sign up for your next event today!
- Every April, the NACCU Annual Conference allows you to see the breadth of all that’s available within the higher education card industry. With a great lineup of educational sessions and exhibitors, it’s an excellent way to stay current on the changing dynamics in our industry.
- We offer a series of one-day, drive-in events called NACCU Near You. These are smaller events that focus on schools within a three-hour drive of the host campus. It’s a great opportunity for professional development, particularly for staff who can’t come to the NACCU Annual Conference.
Build the Connections
- There are seasoned professionals within the NACCU community who are ready to assist you. Whether through the Mentor Program at the NACCU Annual Conference or the New To NACCU Program, you can quickly connect with someone who has already faced your current challenge.
- Share NACCU with a colleague on campus. Your institution’s membership covers all staff on campus – there’s no additional cost to add someone from a different department. By exposing them to NACCU, you may find that they become the next champion for your card office!
- Connect with colleagues dealing with the same issues you’re facing through NACCU NetworX. These are virtual meetings take place periodically for the purpose of engaging institutional members with common professional circumstances. These meetings provide opportunities for professional development and information sharing geared toward the unique needs of those institutions or individuals.
- The NACCU Listserv is like having a room full of experts on speed dial! Many members consider the Listserv their favorite benefit. Whether your question is focused on technology or administrative concerns, our members are ready to help. If you prefer to talk to someone directly instead of through email, then you can always join in our monthly Listserv Live.
NACCU’s overarching goal is to equip you with the knowledge, wisdom, and connections to make the best decisions for your campus community as it pertains to your ID operation and related services. You have to take advantage of the available information, frequent events, and tremendous NACCU community - make the most of NACCU’s resources!
