Cassie Bruner Recognized with NACCU 2026 Campus Card Champion Award
Cassie Bruner, University of Houston
Phoenix, AZ – April 30, 2026 – NACCU is proud to announce that Cassie Bruner, Director of Cougar Card Services at the University of Houston, has received the NACCU 2026 Campus Card Champion Award. Jeff Koziol, Business Development Manager – PACS Partners with Allegion, a NACCU Champion-level sponsor, presented the award during the Awards Luncheon at the NACCU 2026 Annual Conference on April 22, 2026, in Covington, Kentucky.
Introduced in 2025, the Campus Card Champion Award recognizes individuals who have significantly advanced their campus card programs or credential offices. Through advocacy, dynamic collaboration, and strategic support, these champions have made outstanding contributions to their campuses, regardless of their official title or departmental affiliation.
This is the second year awarding the Campus Card Champion Award, and again we received an incredible number of nominations, each one highlighting the dedication, innovation, and impact of truly deserving individuals.
Cassie Bruner received the Campus Card Champion Award in recognition of her work to elevate the university ID card from a basic form of identification to a strategic campus asset.
Through partnerships with departments across campus, Cassie has helped increase card distribution efficiency, add attendance tracking, and expand event tracking to provide actionable data that supports student success research. Her everyday efforts consistently reinforce the importance of the ID card within the institution’s culture.
Cassie is also helping lead the move to mobile credentials, ensuring the ID card remains innovative, relevant, and aligned with evolving industry standards. She views the ID card as an essential connector of people, services, and experiences across campus, and promotes that vision by identifying opportunities for service integration and encouraging the university’s ID card team to think creatively about how the card can solve problems, improve efficiency, and support university goals.
NACCU congratulates Cassie Bruner as the recipient of the NACCU 2026 Campus Card Champion Award.
