Your NACCU Volunteers,

Meet Your NACCU Volunteers

Crissy Sampier

This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Campus Card Information:

Name: Crissy Sampier

School: Longwood University, Farmville, VA

Volunteer Role: Annual Conference Committee

What is your role at your institution?

I am the Director of Lancer Card & Campus Services. I manage the Lancer Card program which consists of ID printing, managing meal plans and debit plans, door access, POS devices and key boxes. I am also the Contract Administrator for five contracts: Aramark, Barnes & Noble, Coke, Canteen, and Caldwell & Gregory.

Where was the first NACCU conference you attended?

I have been to so many, but one of the first that I remember was in Orlando.

What is your favo(u)rite thing about volunteering with your NACCU committee?

I really like to stay involved and make connections with fellow campus card administrators and vendors. I also talk to a lot of people about what is going on in the industry and like to bring those ideas back to the organization to see how we can keep up with the latest trends and provide support for others.

What show are you binge-watching right now?

I just finished watching the latest season of The Ranch on Netflix.

What is your go-to coffee / tea order?

White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks or Banana Nut from Joe Beans.

What is your favo(u)rite memory from when you were a student?

When I was a student at ODU, I got involved with club sports and started playing volleyball and softball. I wasn’t great at either, but I was always organizing the teams. So much so that they called me “The Commish”.

What is one thing that would surprise people about you?

I love the water! I lived at the beach for a long time and now we have a pontoon boat that we take on the lake every weekend in the summer. My dream is to have a lake house. Someday!

Do you do anything special on your campus for the start of Spring Semester?

Not typically, but this Spring we rolled out Atrium, RS2 and Agilysys, as well as new POS and new washers and dryers that work with the Speed Queen app for laundry monitoring and payments.
