Integrated Security, Inc.

In this latest installment of our New Member Highlight, we catch up with Drew Bernard, Business Development Manager: Higher Education, of new NACCU member, Integrated Security, Inc.
Talk about the history of your company.
Integrated Security, Inc. (ISI) was founded in 1972 as a traditional locksmith provider and has evolved into a full-service, national security integrator. As the security landscape advanced, so did our capabilities, expanding into electronic security solutions including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management, and managed security services.
Today, ISI operates with a consultative, client-centric approach, partnering with higher education institutions and enterprise organizations to design and deliver secure, connected environments. We support our clients across the full security lifecycle, from initial assessment and strategic planning to system design, implementation, and ongoing optimization. Our longevity in the industry reflects a consistent commitment to innovation, adaptability, and collaborative partnership.
What does your company do?
ISI delivers tailored, integrated security solutions with a strong emphasis on higher education environments. Our consultative approach ensures that each engagement begins with a deep understanding of the institution’s operational goals, infrastructure, and user experience requirements.
Our core capabilities include access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor management, and managed security services, all thoughtfully integrated to create cohesive, secure ecosystems. We prioritize interoperability, ensuring systems align seamlessly with existing campus technologies to enhance efficiency and minimize disruption.
As an active member of the NACCU community, we are committed to supporting institutions in advancing secure, efficient, and student-centered campus environments through both technology and strategic guidance.
What products and services do you provide specifically to campus card operations?
ISI partners closely with campus card and credentialing teams to design and implement access control solutions that support both physical and mobile credentials. Our focus is on enabling seamless integration between credential platforms and the broader campus ecosystem, including residence life, academic facilities, dining, and auxiliary services.
We recognize that campus card programs are central to both security and the overall student experience so we emphasize the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that enhances usability while maintaining operational control. In addition, our Managed Security Services provide ongoing support through system monitoring, performance optimization, and operational insights. This ensures that campus card programs are not only effective today but are also positioned to evolve alongside institutional priorities and emerging technologies.
Is there a new product or service you want to tell us about?
ISI continues to expand its consultative and Managed Security Service offerings to better support the evolving needs of higher education institutions. We partner closely with campuses to assess their current environments, identify gaps, and develop practical strategies that align with their operational needs and long term goals. Our approach is grounded in real world experience, allowing us to guide institutions toward solutions that are not only innovative, but effective within the complexity of a campus environment.
As campuses increasingly adopt mobile credentials and integrated technology platforms, the need for ongoing system visibility and optimization becomes critical. Our managed services are designed to address this need, providing continuous monitoring, performance oversight, and strategic advisory support. By combining real-world implementation experience with a forward-thinking mindset, ISI helps institutions navigate complexity and maintain security programs that are resilient, efficient, and adaptable over time.
