Meet your NACCU Volunteers: Chris Bird

Your NACCU Volunteers,
Meet your NACCU Volunteers:
Chris Bird

This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Campus Card Information

Name: Chris Bird

School: Bowdoin College

Volunteer Role: Engagement Committee

What is your role at your institution?

I am the Associate Director for OneCard, providing leadership for the campus card program overseeing the OneCard office’s day-to-day operations and functions, and budgeting, both the annual operating budget and capital renewal projects, and leading OneCard program strategic planning.

Where was the first NACCU conference you attended?

Henderson, Nevada

What is your favo(u)rite thing about volunteering with your NACCU committee?

My volunteering this year has focused on growing the Vault and connecting with other NACCU members. This has led to some wonderful connections and conversations with peers, and helped me learn so much about different ways that schools structure and operate their card offices.

What show are you "binge watching" right now?

Nothing currently; next on my list is Fallout season 2.

What's your go-to coffee / tea order?

Hot coffee, black. (Even in the summer!)

What's your favo(u)rite memory from when you were a student?

The week before graduation, a few friends and I brought some beers and our Nintendo to the cinema classroom, and we had a few drinks and played Mario Kart on the big screen.

What's one thing that would surprise people about you?

I’m a fast reader - I read 51 books in 2025, mostly Sci-Fi.

We hope you enjoyed learning a little about Chris! Please look for a new edition of "Meet Your NACCU Volunteers" soon.
