Meet your NACCU Volunteers: Michelle Dietz
Meet your NACCU Volunteers:
Michelle Dietz
This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

What is your role at your institution?
I am the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services at Xavier University.
When did you join NACCU?
I joined NACCU in 2020. I didn't realize at that time how great a group it was until I got more involved with the people and the conferences.
What do you like about volunteering with NACCU?
I truly enjoy making connections across the country, thinking through processes with other higher education professionals, and listening to the different ideas and perspectives about areas we all handle. It is informative, and fun.
What was the first NACCU event you attended?
I attended the annual conference in St. Louis in 2022. I was so impressed with the sessions, the people and the comradery. The set-up is magical, the activities are engaging, and I have made many friends.
Does your current car/truck/bike have a name?
My Honda HRV is Heinze because my license plate letters were HNZ. It helps me to remember it. It changed to JCW so now I say, "Just Cruising With Heinze."
What is your favorite place to vacation?
My favorite vacation is between Florida Gulf beaches in combo with Harry Potter World at Universal Studios or my great uncle's cattle farm in Rolla, Missouri with all the animals and outdoor adventures.
What song would you pick if you had to sing karaoke?
I would choose to sing "Shut Up and Dance with Me" by Walk the Moon. It is a great song to dance to. I would provide everyone with ear plugs beforehand because I sound way better in my own head than in everyone else's ears. So my husband claims... 😉
What skill do you think everyone should have?
Real skill: Perception to assess any situation and be able to navigate it with care and love; Imaginary skill: the ability to appear and disappear anywhere like in "Bewitched."
