Nicole Kerns

Your NACCU Volunteers,

Meet Your NACCU Volunteers:
Nicole Kerns

This is the latest installment of the NACCU series highlighting our association volunteers. NACCU provides programs and services to our members, many which would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our volunteer leaders. Volunteers, whether they are a committee member, a Board member, or an onsite volunteer at a conference, are all important in making NACCU volunteer-driven programs an exceptional experience for our card industry peers.

Campus Card Information:

Name: Nicole Kerns
School: University of Southern California
Volunteer Role: Professional Development Committee

What is your role at your institution?

I am Director for USCard Services.

Where was the first NACCU conference you attended?

My first conference was in Baltimore, Maryland many moons ago.

What is your favo(u)rite thing about volunteering with your NACCU committee?

I enjoy being part of the Professional Development Committee and building relationships with people who understand the unique business we are in. It also sheds light on challenges other people have that do not exist for my group, which makes me appreciate USC and the autonomy we have. There are just so many facets to our jobs!

What show are you binge-watching right now?

I am currently bingeing FX's "Snowfall"... what a great show! It's a great fictional depiction of how the crack epidemic evolved in the 80's. It was created by USC alum John Singleton, who sadly passed away, way too early.

What is your go-to coffee / tea order?

I prefer Chai Tea - no latte!

What is your favo(u)rite memory from when you were a student?

My favorite memory is the late night walks to the local hole-in-the-wall Mexican stand, Chano's, with my friends.

What is one thing that would surprise people about you?

I was escorted in the White House by the Secret Service as a child.

What phone app do you use the most?

I use Zillow... I'm in an endless search for the perfect home!

We hope you have enjoyed learning about Nicole! Please look for a new edition of "Meet Your NACCU Volunteers" soon.
